TUCSON, AZ (August 26, 2021) — The staff at Family Life Radio (FLR) were recently treated to a Zoom chapel led by MercyMe.
The band did a live Q & A and debuted new music videos from their latest album release inhale (exhale). They tackled questions that related to what most have been going through this past year, including leaning on, and trusting the Lord throughout all the uncertainty. They also shared about their 27-year tenure together and how they truly appreciate their relationships with each other.
MercyMe also spoke on the story behind the song “Say I Won’t” which was inspired by their close friend, Gary Miracle, who lost both arms and legs due to septic shock. Bart Millard shared on which lyrics of the song that spoke to him most, “I will be dancing when circumstances drown the music out” and shared on the importance of finding the joy in the most difficult of situations.
“It’s always great to meet with artists and get to know them better, but I love it when artists get to connect with the behind the scenes faces of the ministry. These visits inspire our staff to keep focusing on our mission to inspire hope and equip others to live a more intentional life in Christ,” said Mike Kankelfritz, director of programming and morning show host for FLR.
The team at FLR would like to thank Kai Elmer, senior director of national promotions for Fair Trade Services, for orchestrating the visit.
