Madison’s Life 102.5 Gets Over 1,800 Gifts Into the Hands of Local Children This Christmas

For 19 years Life 102.5 in Madison has partnered with W.I.N.R.S. For Christ to offer the Shoe Box Gifts for Kids initiative, benefiting families in the Madison area who might otherwise not have anything to open Christmas morning. This year, listeners collectively packed 1,812 shoe boxes, surpassing last year’s totals by 400 boxes, setting a new record for the event. The boxes were then distributed via a number of local charitable organizations and churches to those with the greatest need.

Summer Shepherd, on-air host with Life 102.5 was blown away by the response, “Every year we wonder if the generosity could ever match what we saw the previous year. Every year we are blown away. Our lobby filled to overflowing, emails from our drop off locations kept coming in saying they were full as well. To see how amazing this community is, and to see how much they care for one another, is so inspiring. I can’t wait to see what next year brings.”

This year Kid’s Junction Preschool sponsored the event, with others like Apple Wellness, Chic-Fil-A, Cool Beans Café, and Thrivent Financial stepping in as drop-off locations.
