Life 97.9’s Listeners Help Provide a Good Night’s Sleep for Many

KFNW/Fargo (Life 97.9) listeners were asked to donate twin and queen sized sheets, mattress pads, and monetary donations for twin and queen sized mattresses to go to local Fargo non-profit, Down Home, during the month of February. A total of 56 queen and twin sheet sets were donated. Additionally, $1,800 was raised which will provide the magic of a mattress and a good night’s sleep for 7 children. In summary, $3,200 in total support was raised!

Since December 23, 2017, Down Home has furnished homes for 30 families, primarily women and children, transitioning from homelessness into housing. Down Home Turns an empty space into a place to embrace.

Jenessa Fillipi, Founder of Down Home said, “A mattress positively impacts mental, emotional, spiritual and physical health.”

Life 97.9 Listener Engagement Director, Carly Viland, said, “Down Home has only been a part of our community for just shy of a year and a half, but God is using this non-profit in the Fargo-Moorhead area in big ways. The Fill the Home Drive provided the mission of Down Home to spread across the Red River Valley and reach many new friends in the community through the support of Life 97.9 listeners.”
