Life 101.9’s Cards for Kids

Northwestern Media’s Life 101.9 (Waterloo/Cedar Rapids, IA) recently wrapped up their annual Cards for Kids initiative.

During the month of July, listeners were encouraged to donate gift cards for families with a child receiving care at the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital. Many families travel from all over the region for their child to receive treatment in Iowa City, and receiving a few gift cards for meals or gas means so much to them.

Even with the uncertainties brought by COVID-19, Life 101.9 listeners answered the call by giving $5,670 worth of gift cards!

Station Manager Matt Deane said “It is truly amazing to see Life 101.9 listeners show the love of Jesus in this practical way. Over the last three years, nearly $15,000 in gift cards have been donated! It’s our prayer that the donations are a bright spot in a difficult season for the families who receive them.”
