KJIC Experiences a Fire in Transmitter

KJIC 90.5 Christian Music Radio (Houston,TX) planned on installing a new antenna this holiday season. However, it didn’t go exactly as planned.

Once the new antenna was installed, a fire broke out inside the transmitter and destroyed many crucial components. KJIC was off the air for three days and is currently running on low power.

Upon examination, it appears a strap came loose inside the tube cavity and when it made contact with other components, it caused mini fires, arcing, smoke, and damage.

The replacement parts are scheduled to arrive tomorrow and the hope is that this will restore the station back to full power.

What if you left St. Louis with an entirely new lens through which to view and act upon improvements in:

Let’s examine how this all connects together, but approach it from an entirely different angle. Don’t just think outside the box. Kick the box to the curb and start at zero.
