BLACKSBURG, VA – Positive Alternative Radio has added Christian radio marketing and fundraising consultant Jerry Grimes to its team as Vice President of Creative Services. PAR President Edward Baker and Executive Vice President Brian Sanders made the announcement today, adding that the hire is effective immediately.
“As former General Manager of Marconi and Dove award winning 89.7 WMHK and Donor Communications Director for WAY-FM, Jerry has the experience PAR needs as we continue to grow our local market brands and expand our influence nationwide to have an even greater impact for the Gospel,” Baker said.
Grimes will lead teams of content producers and specialists inside and outside the company to market PAR and its stations, Sanders added. He explained that Grimes will work cooperatively with station leadership at Spirt FM, Lynchburg, VA; Joy FM, Winston-Salem, Va.; Your ‘Per, Richmond, Va.; WCQR-FM, Johnson City, TN. and Walk FM, Ashland, KY to grow listenership and ministry impact.
“This is a lead role in the further development of PAR,” he added. “We are glad to have Jerry, who has become a trusted friend to many of us inside PAR, on the team helping us advance our vision.”
Most recently, Grimes served as Vice President of Advocace Media, LLC, a fundraising consulting firm based in Coppell, Texas and serving Christian radio, as well as other ministry non-profits nationwide.
“I believe PAR has not only transformed its stations and company in recent years, but that they have solutions to help strengthen local Christian radio across the board. Stronger stations reaching and serving their markets means a bigger impact for Christ.”
PAR’s efforts have included presentations at Christian Music Broadcaster’s Momentum conference, as well as the website, DearChristianRadio.com, where blogs and resources are provided to help grow local stations and increase their impact. In addition, the station mentors local Christian radio leaders through PAR Services.
PAR is a non-profit ministry founded in 1985 by Edward Baker’s father, the late Dr. Vernon H. Baker and his mother, Virginia. Today, PAR owns and operates stations and networks in key markets in Virginia, Eastern Tennessee, West Virginia, Ohio, North Carolina and South Carolina. The stations provide adult contemporary and gospel music, as well as Christian content available across a variety of digital platforms.
