Throughout the hot summer days, J103 partnered with the Chattanooga Police Department to serve popsicles to children at local youth and family development centers. J103 and local police officers brought popsicles to over 300 children in 7 different communities around Chattanooga and helped children to understand the role of law enforcement.
The children loved the opportunity to hang out with police officers, ask questions about their job, and try on some of the police gear. Major Daniel Jones, Special Operations Command with the Chattanooga Police Department said, “It was fantastic to see all the smiling faces from the kids at the youth and family development centers. These interactions are essential to building stronger relationships with every segment and age of our society. To do this over some popsicles added a lot of flavor.”
J103 organized this event to help offer a fun environment for community members and local law enforcement to connect.
