Listeners to Positive Alternative Radio’s WPER-FM in the greater Richmond, Va. area and Washington DC suburbs will be waking up to a whole new morning show. The team of Eric Calhoun and Heather Shelley will take over the AM Drive beginning Monday, January 23rd.
Eric and Heather have been doing the afternoon show for WPER since August, General Manager Frankie Morea explained.
“Eric and Heather already have a great connection with our listeners,” Morea said. “I’m beyond excited they are ready to take on mornings.”
The team replaces Mike Kelly and Megan Billingsley, who are pursuing other interests, Morea explained. Eric and Heather joined WPER after career stops at EMF’s Air One network and WRCM in Charlotte. Eric and Heather are celebrating ten years of working in Christian radio together and we’re grateful to have them here at WPER.
“I love the energy of a morning show,” Eric said. “It’s a wonderful opportunity to minister to people as they start their day.”
Heather agreed, saying that she is looking forward to creating a special listening experience for WPER’s audience.
“This is a very special radio station in a thriving, important part of our country here in the backyard of the nation’s capital,” Heather said. “We get to shine the light of the Gospel for people, and encourage them by helping them keep their minds on Christ.”
