Collection Bins Overflow as 90.9 KCBI Listeners Wrap Up Buckner International’s DFW Shoe Drive

Buckner-PictureIn August, KCBI-FM/Dallas partnered with Buckner International for the Shoe’s For Orphan Souls campaign to provide shoes to unprivileged and vulnerable children in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. KCBI listeners donate over 2,000 new adult athletic shoes in  one month!

The final drop off was held at the Texas Rangers game on August 28th where more than 150 pairs of donated shoes overflowed the collection bins! KCBI’s Rebecca Carrell of Mornings with Jeff and Rebecca was on hand to greet listeners as they walked into the ballpark.

KCBI listener Alvarro and his family brought shoes to the game. “I just hope that the boy who gets these shoes is able to walk comfortably. I’m praying that he may find hope in our Lord Jesus.” It is because of people like Alvarro that over 2000 children will be blessed with adequate footwear as they begin the school year.

Both 90.9 KCBI and Buckner International have a centered mission of providing hope for the world around them and this outreach was just one way of accomplishing that.

We’ve all read the same books about teamwork, leadership, communication, and culture that everybody reads. We’ve mastered Maxwell, studied Sanborn, Sinek, and Sun Tzu, and liberally cribbed Collins in aborted attempts to go from good to great, but…

How’s that working out for you?

What if you left St. Louis with an entirely new lens through which to view and act upon improvements in:

Let’s examine how this all connects together, but approach it from an entirely different angle. Don’t just think outside the box. Kick the box to the curb and start at zero.
