Christian Music Broadcasters announces a new initiative today that will help develop and grow future leaders, plus help existing leaders take their skills to a new level.
CMB Mentoring has been in development for over a year, according to Michelle Younkman, CMB Executive Director. “This is a customized radio leadership curriculum that can’t be learned in school, but rather from the experience of others. It’s not about learning how to work with Selector, how to read a financial report, or coaching talent. It’s all about leadership – your relationship with the people who report to you as well as those who you report to,” she said.
Because of this, the CMB Mentoring program will only be available to leaders at the director level (program director, promotion director, etc.) and above, including those in executive leadership. It’s a seven-month intensive program, led by industry veteran Alan Mason, available exclusively to CMB Members. Mentees will be paired with a mentor, such as a CMB Board member or other recognizable, experienced industry leader who is passionate about investing in others. Each mentee will be provided with the necessary materials to make the mentoring process successful.
CMB member research revealed ‘growing future leaders’ as one of the greatest needs in the industry. “Christian Music Broadcasters’ mission is to encourage, engage, and equip our members to impact their communities for Christ, and what better what to do than help leaders become more effective,” Younkman said.
Only 10 mentees will be selected and the inaugural class will officially begin at CMB’s annual signature event Momentum, June 2-4 at Universal Studios, Orlando.
