HOUSTON, Texas (October 6, 2020) – Sacrificial service to others. 89.3 KSBJ is pleased to celebrate heroes who served our city this year with our inaugural Community Impact Awards. Two finalists and one winner were recognized during a virtual Donor Gathering yesterday and will receive an engraved award.
The two 2020 Finalists are the Houston Food Bank and Gallery Furniture. The Houston Food Bank serves families across 18-counties. This year, due to COVID-19, the Food Bank doubled the amount of food typically distributed. Gallery Furniture has provided meals to those in need, supported other businesses, and opened a community resource center to help those who lost jobs due to the pandemic.
The 2020 Winner of the KSBJ Community Impact award is a private individual who represents many Houstonians who sacrificed and served on the front lines of the pandemic. Memorial Herman nurse Terri Hallford has worked tirelessly caring for COVID patients, setting up phone calls for family members to say goodbye to loved ones and sitting with patients as they took their last breath.
“KSBJ loves the people across our communities,” shares KSBJ President & CEO, Joe Paulo. “There are so many individuals and organizations tirelessly working to make Houston an even better place to live and raise a family. Certainly, Terri – along with the Houston Food Bank and Gallery Furniture – exemplifies servant-heartedness. May her dedication inspire each of us to love and serve others as Jesus did.”
Congratulations to the recipients of the 2020 KSBJ Community Impact Awards!
