7 Million Prayers and Counting… PrayerWorks Platform to Transfer and Relaunch

Jason Sharp, Senior Vice President at Northwestern Media {NWM}, in St. Paul, Minnesota and Morgan Wood, creator of PrayerWorks®, announce the transfer of the PrayerWorks platform to Morgan Wood.

PrayerWorks will be relaunched outside of the NWM network under a new name, beginning January 1, 2017.

“There is no one on earth more passionate about growing PrayerWorks than Morgan Wood.” says Jason Sharp. “Transferring PrayerWorks to her and giving her the opportunity to expand the platform is simply the right thing to do.”

PrayerWorks was created by Wood when she was at 98.5 KTIS, part of the NWM network. Together with Sharp and the station team, they made the tool available to other organizations. This allows them to provide a private, secure community where their listeners or members can pray for each other.

The user experience is simple, but powerful. Users submit a prayer request through the app, and are notified via text message or email every time someone has prayed for them. They often receive positive notes from other users.

To date, over 7 million prayers have been prayed via PrayerWorks.

Wood says “It was such an honor to develop this tool under the umbrella of NWM. It’s just awesome to see how people are using this technology to spread hope and encouragement. I am thrilled to continue this service and provide additional opportunities to organizations worldwide.”

Current affiliates will continue to be hosted and supported by NWM through December 31, 2016, at which time hosting will be transferred to Morgan Wood.

“In the next several months, we’ll be working on re-branding, funding options and mapping out a schedule for upgrades to be completed,” says Wood. “Most importantly, we’ll be working with NWM on data migration, to ensure as smooth a transition as possible for current affiliates.”

For additional information, to express interest in acquiring the tool for your organization, or if you are interested in supporting its development, please contact Morgan.

Wise, Weird & Welcome: Learning and Leading with the Lepers and the Locust Eaters

We’ve all read the same books about teamwork, leadership, communication, and culture that everybody reads. We’ve mastered Maxwell, studied Sanborn, Sinek, and Sun Tzu, and liberally cribbed Collins in aborted attempts to go from good to great, but…

How’s that working out for you?

What if you left St. Louis with an entirely new lens through which to view and act upon improvements in:

Let’s examine how this all connects together, but approach it from an entirely different angle. Don’t just think outside the box. Kick the box to the curb and start at zero.
