The gifts will go to over 1,500 children across the country who may not have otherwise received a present at Christmas.

“Family Life Radio has an incredibly generous listening community. Their support of the Toy Drive is going to help families across the country experience the hope we have in Jesus this Christmas,” said Evan Carlson, President and CEO of FLR.

Over 100 local businesses in seven states served as drop off locations. The FLR regional promotion coordinators also hosted donation events where members of the local community brought their donations from footballs and soccer balls to board games and dolls. FLR partnered with eight local nonprofits who support families in need. In Arizona and Michigan, Youth Haven, a sister ministry of FLR, was the beneficiary. Youth Haven provides life-changing, Christ-centered experiences for disadvantaged children. “We are so thankful for the 56-year partnership with Family Life Radio and all they do to help the children we serve at Youth Haven. The toys collected allow us to show true Christian love in such a tangible way,” said Lars Carlson, President and CEO of Youth Haven.

FLR also teamed up with Lubbock Dream Center and Mission Agape in Texas, Carry the Cross Ministries/On Eagle’s Wings Farm in Missouri, Christmas for Kids Southwest in Wisconsin, Mission Southside in Kansas and Roswell Wings for Life and Victory Outreach ABQ in New Mexico.

Radio veteran Andrew “Robbo” Robinson is ending his tenure with Vision Christian Radio breakfast show “Rise & Shine”, moving into management after more than 4000 shows.

Radio and online Christian personality DJ Paine will fill Robbo’s chair to form a new on-air duo alongside long-time Rise & Shine host Becci Johnstone.

DJ accepted the new role after previously leading breakfast shows in Geelong for 96three FM and the online startup TheTelly.live.

Vision CEO Phil Edwards said he was excited to bring DJ to Vision’s national audience. “Vision has been working hard to see God’s Word reach every corner of Australia through media since 1988, making it available for free to whoever might listen, read or watch,” he said.
“We see this move as part of a new era of growth for Vision, and we believe that DJ is the right personality for breakfast as we begin our first steps into the world of digital broadcast radio for the very first time.
“Both Vision Christian Radio and our music station V180 Radio are coming to the city of Brisbane via DAB+ Digital in April.”

“If you had told me two months ago that I would be moving my life back to South East Queensland to work at Vision’s national studios I would have laughed in your face, but thank goodness God had other plans,” he said. “This new opportunity to work for the incredible ministry of Vision is truly a match made in heaven and I can’t wait to work with Becci.”

Meyers brings more than 25 years of broadcast and marketing media experience to MMI.

“We are very enthusiastic about Linda coming to be our general manager,” Board President Woods Watson commented. “In this era of change, we are grateful to have such a creative, caring leader to help us navigate the storms ahead and lead us into a bright future as we encourage and strengthen believers in the Christian lives and introduce non-believers to Jesus Christ.”

Meyers’ experience includes producing highly successful radio shows, artist promotion, media marketing and consulting, as well as being part of founding CMB and serving as its Executive Director during the formative years of the organization.

“The commitment of the staff, volunteers, and board to be a bridge in this community and their passion for proclaiming the hope of Jesus is undeniable,” Meyers says, “I’m excited to be a part of what God is doing in Northeast Louisiana.”

The post 88.7 The Cross Announces New General Manager first appeared on CMB.

The post 88.7 The Cross Announces New General Manager appeared first on CMB.
