WCTL Radio, Erie’s only locally owned and operated Christian radio station, is welcoming two new voices to its weekend lineup.

Brittany Butryn brings a fresh perspective to Saturday mornings from 7 a.m. to noon and to WCTL’s Sunday morning worship program, Worthy of Worship, airing 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Recently recognized as one of Radio Ink’s “Women to Watch,” Butryn has been heard on radio stations in Oklahoma City and Pensacola, Florida, and has served as a national on-air personality for Westwood One. In addition to her work at WCTL, she is currently the remote midday host on WKXD “106.9 Kicks Country” in Cookeville, Tennessee. Known for her authentic and engaging style, Butryn says she especially values the opportunity to openly share her faith on WCTL.

Aaron Mason can be heard Saturdays from noon to 4 p.m. and Sundays from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. He also serves as WCTL’s Traffic Manager. For Mason, joining the air staff is a full-circle moment. He grew up volunteering alongside his parents at WCTL fundraisers and later completed an internship with the station. Over the years, God developed within Mason a deep passion for Christian radio and contemporary Christian music. Before returning to Erie, he gained experience in production and on-air broadcasting at The Word in Praise in Chesapeake, Virginia. Earlier this year, he earned an Associate Degree in Business Administration from Toccoa Falls College.

“It’s exciting for all of us to invest in the next generation of WCTL,” said Lori Clapper, Program Director for WCTL. “Brittany and Aaron each bring unique perspectives, a genuine love for radio, and most importantly, a heart for sharing the hope of Jesus with listeners across our region.”

The post WCTL Weekends Feature New Voices first appeared on CMB.

The post WCTL Weekends Feature New Voices appeared first on CMB.

Biddell’s Christian radio career began in 1989 at KCJH in Stockton, California, where he hosted the overnight shift from midnight to 3:00 a.m. What began as a passion for ministry through broadcasting has grown into a nearly four-decade career marked by leadership, station growth, team development and a commitment to serving listeners through Christian media.

Biddell served at KYCC in a variety of roles from 1990 to 2008, including on-air host, production manager, promotions director, music director and station manager. In 2006, he joined FLR as station manager and morning host for KFLT in Tucson. His leadership responsibilities continued to expand, later serving as network program director in 2009, chief broadcast systems officer in 2017 and chief broadcast officer in 2025, with oversight of engineering operations, compliance, station growth, programming and broadcast strategy.

Throughout his career, Biddell has remained committed to advancing the mission of Christian radio while developing strong teams and future leaders. When reflecting on his 37 years in broadcasting, he points first to the people he has served alongside.

“Building strong teams has been one of the most rewarding parts of my career,” said Biddell. “The success we’ve experienced has always been the result of talented people working together to serve listeners and advance the ministry.”

During Biddell’s tenure, FLR has experienced significant growth, including the acquisition and launch of WDRQ in Detroit, one of the ministry’s most notable expansion milestones. The station helped extend FLR’s reach and impact in a major market, reflecting the ministry’s continued commitment to sharing hope with more listeners.

Biddell also credits the mentors, colleagues and industry leaders who have shaped his career, including early mentor Brent Randall, his first program director, and longtime friends and colleagues Michelle Younkman and John Brock, relationships that span nearly 30 years.

At the heart of Adam’s career is a simple principle that has guided him since his earliest days in broadcasting. “Meeting people at the point of their need is something I heard early in my radio career, and it has stayed with me to this day,” said Biddell. “That’s what I am called to do.”

As FLR and ILM honor Biddell’s 20 years of service, the ministry celebrates a career marked not only by leadership and professional accomplishment, but also by an unwavering commitment to ministry, service and sharing the hope of Christ through Christian media.

The post Family Life Radio Honors Adam Biddell’s 20 Years of Service first appeared on CMB.

The post Family Life Radio Honors Adam Biddell’s 20 Years of Service appeared first on CMB.

Salem Media announced that Allen Power, President of Broadcast Media, will retire on September 30, 2026, after a 50-year career in broadcasting. Following his retirement, Power will continue serving Salem as a Senior Advisor.

The announcement comes on the 50th anniversary of Power’s first day in broadcasting. He began his career on June 15, 1976, and has spent the last 26 years helping lead Salem through a period of significant growth across radio, digital media, and content distribution.

Power joined Salem in 2000 as the company’s first General Manager in Atlanta. He later served as Regional Vice President, Senior Vice President, and was named President of Broadcast Media in 2023. Under his leadership, Salem strengthened its position as the nation’s leading Christian and conservative media company while expanding its reach across broadcast, digital, and multimedia platforms.

“Allen and I have worked together for nearly 25 years in a variety of roles at Salem,” said David Santrella, Chief Executive Officer of Salem Media. “His leadership, his ability to inspire those around him, and his incredible understanding of our business will be missed. Beyond his business accomplishments, he has led with integrity, humility, and a genuine commitment to serving others. While we will miss his daily leadership, we are grateful that he will continue serving Salem as a Senior Advisor.”

Power reflected on the milestone and his decision to retire, commenting, “Fifty years ago today, on June 15, 1976, I started my first job in broadcasting. I have spent more than half of my career at Salem and it has been such a blessing to devote my efforts to spreading the message of the gospel through broadcasting. I am grateful to the Atsinger and Epperson families, Joe Davis, Dave Santrella and my many wonderful Salem colleagues and ministry partners. After five decades of hard work, the next chapter will be about investing my time and gifts in faith, family, and worthwhile organizations. After a sabbatical, I will decide where and how to do that.”

In addition to his work at Salem, Power has been active in broadcasting industry leadership for decades. He currently serves on the Executive Committee of the National Association of Broadcasters Board of Directors and previously served as Chairman of the Georgia Association of Broadcasters. Earlier in his career, he served on the Board of the South Carolina Broadcasters Association.

His contributions to the industry have been recognized repeatedly, including being named one of Radio Ink’s Top 20 Leaders in Radio in 2024, 2025, and 2026.

Power graduated from Furman University and lives with his wife, Susan in the northern suburbs of Atlanta. They have two married children and three grandsons. He has also led a weekly Bible study at First Baptist Woodstock for more than 17 years.

Salem will announce additional leadership appointments and succession plans in the coming weeks.

The post Salem Media’s Allen Power Announces Retirement first appeared on CMB.

The post Salem Media’s Allen Power Announces Retirement appeared first on CMB.

With Beth Crosby’s recent departure to the Prayz Network, Kinship is pleased to have Kinship’s midday host, LaDonna Alvarado, move to mornings with host, Ryan Freed.

Alvarado joined Kinship three years ago as its host Midday host. Moving to mornings, she and Ryan look forward to the change. The duo will focus on cultivating listener relationships through more interaction and involvement on-air and within the communities in southern Minnesota and northern Iowa.

Says Ryan, “I’m looking forward to building on the foundation of involvement and interaction we’ve already established with our listening family. Having LaDonna join the team ensures that commitment will continue to grow and flourish.” Adds LaDonna, “God has so blessed this listening family that loves Kinship Radio. We believe there’s still a lot more good we can do together in Jesus’ name. I’m looking forward to starting each day with that in mind.”

On June 29, the All New Mornings with Ryan and LaDonna expands to 6:00 – 10:00 am. Several of the talk and teaching programs, such as Focus On The Family and Turning Point, move to the evenings starting at 8:00 pm. With Alvarado stepping off Middays, Kinship has tapped radio veteran, Heather Erbe, to become part of the lineup from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm. Jack Robertson, brought in part-time to host afternoons for retiring host Doug Johnson back in March, has joined the team full-time to assist with content development and community relationships. Kinship expects to name a new host for evenings 6:00 – 8:00 pm within the next two weeks.

Program Director, Eric Johnson, sums up the changes as a means to better connect with current and new listeners who want a radio station they can call their station. “With all the choices available, accessibility to the person behind the microphone is critical to our ability to thrive in the years ahead. For us, it’s not about talking at listeners, it’s talking with listeners through life to have meaningful relationships that go both deep and wide for the sake of the Gospel.”

The post LaDonna Alvarado Moving to Mornings on Kinship Radio first appeared on CMB.

The post LaDonna Alvarado Moving to Mornings on Kinship Radio appeared first on CMB.

Lawhon will continue serving in his current roles through March 2027 to support a smooth and orderly leadership transition.

“Steve led one of the most significant transformations in the history of our ministry,” said Jon Bisset, President of Peter & John Ministries. “Under his leadership, our media ministry evolved from a heritage teaching and talk station into BRIGHT-FM, a dynamic, multi-platform ministry that impacts hundreds of thousands of lives across our region. Steve never viewed media as an end in itself, but as a way to help people encounter the hope and love of Jesus. More importantly, he has served this ministry with remarkable faithfulness and dedication for more than four decades. His creativity, vision, and commitment to excellence have left a lasting mark on both our ministry and the communities we serve.”

Lawhon joined the organization in 1985 as an on-air announcer. Over the next four decades, he rose to become one of the longest-serving ministry media leaders in the country. During his tenure, he led Brighter Media Group through a period of tremendous change in both media and broadcasting while helping expand the ministry’s reach, influence, and impact throughout the region. Under his leadership, the ministry grew across multiple platforms, entered new markets, and strengthened its ability to connect people with the hope of Christ.

That leadership has earned national recognition. Under Lawhon’s direction, BRIGHT-FM has become one of the nation’s most respected Christian media ministries, receiving multiple national honors from Christian Music Broadcasters, including being named Major Market Station of the Year.

“It has been one of the greatest privileges of my life to serve this ministry for more than four decades,” said Lawhon. “When I look back on my career, I realize that all I ever really wanted to do was help move people toward the Lord. Everything else, the technology, the growth, the awards, and the business itself, existed to support that purpose. I am grateful for the people who shared that mission, for the friendships formed along the way, and for God’s faithfulness through it all.”

Following Lawhon’s decision, Peter & John Ministries has begun a thoughtful succession planning process to identify the next leader of Brighter Media Group while ensuring a smooth transition over the coming months. Lawhon will remain with the organization through March 2027.

The post Brighter Media Group & BRIGHT-FM’s Steve Lawhon to Retire first appeared on CMB.

The post Brighter Media Group & BRIGHT-FM’s Steve Lawhon to Retire appeared first on CMB.

FrontGate Media announced today that it has formed new streaming TV advertising partnerships with The Christmas Channel, FaithChannel, and GoodVue Network. The additions expand opportunities for media buyers, advertising agencies, marketing directors, brand managers, and promotional partners to reach highly engaged family and faith-based audiences, including Christmas fanatics, Christians, book readers, and conservatives through digital video and streaming television campaigns.

The announcement reflects the continued shift from traditional linear television to streaming, connected TV, and digital video advertising. As brands look for more measurable, targeted, and cost-efficient alternatives to traditional television buys, FrontGate’s streaming TV partnerships provide new access points for advertisers seeking values-aligned audiences in trusted content environments.

“Streaming TV has opened a major opportunity for advertisers who want the credibility of television with the targeting, flexibility, and efficiency of digital marketing,” said Scott A. Shuford, Founder & Chief Engagement Officer of FrontGate Media. “The Christmas Channel, FaithChannel, and GoodVue Network each serve audiences that are not just watching content, but intentionally choosing content that reflects their values, their families, and their interests. This creates powerful trust, attention, and alignment for both for-profit and nonprofit advertisers.”

The expansions align with FrontGate Media’s 25th anniversary strategy: broadening audience access points, deepening advertising and promotional partnerships, and helping brands move beyond generic media buys to highly targeted, trust-based campaigns in relevant content environments.

The post FrontGate Media Adds Streaming TV Advertising Partnerships first appeared on CMB.

The post FrontGate Media Adds Streaming TV Advertising Partnerships appeared first on CMB.

Family Life Radio (FLR) is pleased to announce Brenda Price as its new afternoon show host. Sam Kelly, who has faithfully served listeners in afternoons, will move into the midday spot.

Price brings more than 20 years of experience in radio and online media, serving as both an on-air host and producer. Her infectious personality and ability to connect with listeners have been evident throughout her work with several Christian radio ministries, including Air1 Radio, KBMQ 88.7 The Cross, and WAWZ Star 99.1 in the New York/New Jersey market.

“After a season of serving, growing and earning a college degree, I’m excited to be returning to Christian radio with Family Life Radio,” said Price. “I love sharing Jesus! That’s my superpower. I love talking about how God shows up in everyday life, and I can’t wait to encourage listeners and remind them that no matter what they’re facing, there is always hope in Jesus.”

“We are thrilled to welcome Brenda to the Family Life Radio afternoon team,” said Adam Biddell, chief broadcast officer for FLR. “Her energy, authenticity, and heart for ministry align beautifully with our mission of helping people experience hope through Christ. We are excited for listeners to get to know her and be encouraged by her each afternoon.”

FLR would like to thank Ceci LaBarge for graciously stepping into the midday role over the past year, following the passing of beloved host Shannyn Caldwell, who went home to be with the Lord on January 8, 2026, after a battle with cancer. Ceci’s willingness to serve listeners during a tender season has been a meaningful part of FLR’s ministry.

Brenda’s official start date will be July 13, 2026. FLR is also hiring a co-host to serve alongside Price.
