In this role, Ivette will lead KHCB’s community engagement strategy, developing and executing promotional initiatives that strengthen partnerships with churches, ministries, and organizations across the Greater Houston area. She will oversee outreach events, cultivate strategic relationships, and help expand KHCB’s presence both on-air and within the community.

Thousands of people from Washington, D.C., to countries around the world came together to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus at the 46th annual Easter Sunrise Service at the Lincoln Memorial with National Community Church. From 1979, when 127 people gathered on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial with Capital Church, to today, when thousands gathered for this service, it has become one of D.C.’s foremost traditions. Several years ago, National Community Church took up the mantle of running the service.

For the past three years, WGTS has joined the effort as a media partner, inviting the greater Washington, D.C., area to attend the event.

“I’ve gone almost every year, and it’s always inspirational,” says WGTS morning show host Jerry Woods. “There’s something so powerful about people from all walks of life coming together to celebrate Jesus!”

Pastor Mark Batterson from National Community Church ended his sermon by inviting attendees to make a decision to follow Jesus, and many accepted that call.

Next year’s Easter Sunrise Service is already scheduled for Sunday, March 28, 2027, at 6:30 a.m.

Summers, who has been in the industry for over nine years, serves as the network’s Program Director and Operations Director. She will now be heard live as the on-air connector in multiple markets across the country—including Indiana, Alabama, Ohio, and additional markets—every weekday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. ET. Her debut broadcast on the TCM network begins this Monday, April 13.

As of April 1, Kinship Radio, based in Mankato, MN, named Eric Johnson as its new Program Director and afternoon host. Eric has served as the station’s Operations Manager for the past eight months. Prior to that, he served with Moody Radio’s South Florida station, WRMB, and as the Program Director at WCDR/Cedarville OH.

“I’ve been deeply grateful for the kindness and support the Kinship team has extended to me,” Johnson said. “I look forward to partnering with them in this new capacity as we continue proclaiming the message of Jesus daily.”

Chris Lemke, Kinship Radio’s new Executive Director, added, “I’ve known Eric for 25+ years, but we never really worked together. Working with Eric for the last five months has been a refreshing and rewarding experience. His character, his skills, and his passion for connecting others to Jesus well complement what we need and desire here at Kinship Radio.”

Eric will continue working primarily from his home in Florida while overseeing the on-air content and team. He’ll make occasional trips to Mankato to work with the network’s leadership team on initiatives that deepen and widen the station’s audience and influence for Christ.

The network also added Jack Robertson of Magee, MS, as its early evening host. Robertson presently hosts mornings on Renew Radio. He’s also had stints at The Cross (Monroe, LA), Spirit FM (Missouri), and WAY-FM. Lemke adds, “Jack’s addition affirms our commitment to be more real and relational with those who listen and engage with us.”

Lovell, who piloted Apollo 8 and commanded Apollo 13, welcomed the crew as they journeyed around the moon, which he fondly called his “old neighborhood.” In his message, he reflected on humanity’s first close view of the moon and encouraged the Artemis II team to carry that legacy forward as they pave the way toward future missions to Mars. He closed with a heartfelt reminder to “enjoy the view,” offering a moving sendoff: “Good luck and Godspeed from all of us here on the good Earth.”
