2025 Mark Ramsey Potential Listener Study
Lots of research has focused on CCM station perceptions in local markets and the tech habits of CCM fans. However, not much has focused on the larger population of people who listen to Christian music (no matter where that happens) whether or not they are also CCM radio listeners. Further, we broadcasters have lots of assumptions about what drives these potential listeners, but are those assumptions true? In this landmark study, we survey Christian music listeners and then ask the same questions of CCM stations. Are these would-be listeners really who we think they are?

2024 Gold Member Gathering Decks
CMB’s Gold Member Gathering took place on February 27 and 28 in Dallas. The focus was “All About the Listener,” during which the Jacobs Media team conducted video focus groups, segmented by Gen X, Y, and Z, and shared their findings. Our hope is that when our attendees returned to their stations, they had some interesting conversations about the efficacy of talkingto and reaching Gen X, Y, and Z. CMB’s mission is to give more platform to the gospel message, so that more people, in more places, are reached for Jesus.

2022 Coleman Insights Research Project – Millennials & Gen Z
While CCM stations have maintained a relatively contemporary music mix, the median age of its listeners has increased. What is keeping Christian music fans under 40 from consuming Christian radio stations and how can that information be used to help grow the medium to 50 million listeners? 18 to 40-year-old Christian music fans participated in a new qualitative study in CMB’s 2022 Research Project via the Coleman Insights Campfire Online Discussion Group platform to answer these questions and more. Insights include: What station attributes are most and least important. The role of personalities and how on target their content/topic choices are. Why they choose secular vs. non-secular stations and shows. The impact of messaging used by CCM stations. How they feel about the music played on CCM stations and whether other platforms are serving their needs.
