It was the first morning of our fall fundraiser and while I was getting ready to head to the station I was going through the checklist in my head. You know the one. The final preparation checklist for ‘Go-Time’. Between the prep list and some conversation with God about the day ahead I took one final look in the mirror and this very quiet voice resonated in my spirit. I heard the word “Indelible.”
Driving to the station I heard it again. “Indelible”. I most often think about it in the context of ink. Like permanent marker. When I arrived at the studio I looked up the definition and I saw these words…”leaving marks that cannot be removed, unfading, enduring, unforgettable, not able to be forgotten or removed.” Wow. Indelible…is forever.
People, places & events can leave an indelible impression on us. A parent. A father figure. Your children and your grandkids. A vacation spot that became a favorite getaway for you and your spouse. A tattoo. A wedding. A water baptism. A funeral. A radio station! Each one can make a difference in one way or another and from the moment the connection is made your life is forever changed.
The greatest indelible mark that’s ever touched my life leaving a mark so unforgettable that it cannot be removed….God’s grace in my life. Ushered in through the blood of His Son, Jesus Christ, when I said “I believe.” From the moment I said yes to Him my life changed forever.
Sharing how to find and experience God’s grace through the medium of Christian radio is what we’re called to do in this industry. Creativity and passion are gifts from God that enable us to effectively communicate the Gospel. And radio is the conduit to share His grace and hope with our listeners…so they can experience His indelible mark on their lives as well.
When we are intentional in our relationships we leave an indelible mark on the lives we touch. Not that we would be remembered for anything we’ve said or done but that long after we’re gone what’s left behind, what’s most important, is the indelible mark of God…unfading, enduring, unforgettable.
“Let us not become weary in doing good for at the proper time we will reap a harvest, if we do not give up.” ~ Galatians 6:9
