LYRICS

Oh, I’ve heard a thousand stories
Of what they think You’re like
But I’ve heard the tender whisper
Of love in the dead of night
And You tell me that You’re pleased
And that I’m never alone

You’re a good good Father
It’s who You are, it’s who You are, it’s who You are
And I’m loved by You
It’s who I am, it’s who I am, it’s who I am

Oh, and I’ve seen many searching
For answers far and wide
But I know we’re all searching
For answers only You provide
‘Cause You know just what we need
Before we say a word

You’re a good good Father
It’s who You are, it’s who You are, it’s who You are
And I’m loved by You
It’s who I am, it’s who I am, it’s who I am

Cause You are perfect in all of Your ways
You are perfect in all of Your ways
You are perfect in all of Your ways to us

You are perfect in all of Your ways
Oh, You are perfect in all of Your ways
You are perfect in all of Your ways to us

Oh, it’s love so undeniable
I, I can hardly speak
Peace so unexplainable
I, I can hardly think
As You call me deeper still
As You call me deeper still
As You call me deeper still
Into love, love, love

You’re a good good Father
It’s who You are, it’s who You are, it’s who You are
And I’m loved by You
It’s who I am, it’s who I am, it’s who I am

You’re a good good Father
It’s who You are, it’s who You are, it’s who You are
And I’m loved by You
It’s who I am, it’s who I am, it’s who I am
You’re a good good Father

You are perfect in all of Your ways
You are perfect in all of Your ways
You are perfect in all of Your ways

TAKING IT DEEPER THOUGHTS

Imagine your dad is a rock star, and you’re his pimply-faced fifteen-year-old son who wants to go backstage to see him.  Even though you’re related, some giant bouncer is probably going to keep you from getting back there.  Dad’s already there, he’s backstage twiddling his guitar, waiting to see you, wondering where you are – but you’re hung out at the popcorn stand hoping Barney Fife will let you through.

That is, unless, you have an all access pass around your neck.

Aaron Shust used this idea to explain God to his young son.  Aaron is a Christian artist, and one day they were talking about daddy’s picture on an all access pass for his show.  Aaron said it’s not his son’s picture that’s on the pass.  It’s his picture, and that’s what allows access.  Stop and think about that.  We’re popcorn-coated greaseballs.  But when we accept Jesus, we gain access to the Father. and it’s not because of who we are.  You might be the artists son, but a security guard in Toledo wouldn’t know that, until he sees the picture of the Father around your neck.  Access is granted because of who the Father is.  The star of the show.

Who He is establishes who I am.  The child of a good, gracious, loving Father.  Even if I have grease stains from wiping my popcorn hands on my shirt.

TWEET THOUGHT

He’s a Good Good Father, and I’m loved by Him.  Who He is establishes who I am!

APPLICABLE SCRIPTURE

Matthew 7:11
If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!
