What is your favorite song?
Right now….”Higher” by For All Seasons…fun and upbeat song with great reminder that His ways always higher!
What is the last book you’ve read?
“Present over Perfect”…great book….now I haven’t read in a little while because I’m trying to be present 🙂
What led you to a career in radio?
Jesus! Always had a passion for music…climbed the corporate ladder before God opened a door here for me at The Bridge (our local station that loved and volunteered with). As soon as the bank doors closed, the one here was wide open and as soon as I said yes to Jesus…all blessings poured out! Would have never planned this path.
What advice would you give people new to the business?
Dig in and try to learn all aspects, departments and lingo. The first few years I had no clue about the acronyms, etc. It’s good to have a well-rounded knowledge of radio as a whole. I’m still learning!
Give a shoutout to someone who is making a difference in radio and what are they doing to make an impact?
Shout out to none other than Bill Sammons and Denise Harper here at The Bridge! They’ve been doing the morning show together for over 25 years (at a former station together) and have made lasting impacts and relationships with our listeners. Last year they won a prestigious award here in Delaware (Top Morning Show DJ’s) being the first Christian station to win this award out of ALL stations here!
How do you refresh your creative energy at work?
Just attend one of our staff meetings! They can be absolutely hilarious at times. Or attend Momentum or a CMB Summit. Those are always my favorite ways to come back feeling refreshed!
Amazon Echo or Google Home?
What is your favorite part of your job?
Building relationships with our listeners and donors with the added bonus of getting to attend lots of awesome concerts and events and sharing that with my family. My girls get to attend lots of cool events because of “mom’s job”.
Who is your favorite air personality not on your staff and why do you like them?
Hmmmm I don’t ever get to listen to any other personalities and Pandora doesn’t have one..so..hmmm
What was your last non-industry job?
The corporate world at Bank of America….climbed the corporate ladder there with several different roles leaving as a Vice President in Associate Engagement.
Tell me about a project or accomplishment that you consider to be the most significant in your career.
My name is listed on a patent for a social media platform I helped create while at the bank. Or Bridge related…the biggest one would have to be helping raise over a million dollars within 30 days to “save” the station as it was being sold. It was a complete group effort and obviously we had God’s favor but that was a big one!
Teach me something I don’t know in the next five minutes.
Did you know that the adult human body has anywhere from 2-9 pounds of bacteria in his or her body?
You’re a new addition to the crayon box. What color would you be and why?
Cornflower blue! It’s my fav! Was the color of my bridesmaids dresses and is the color of our Bridge logo.
