Develop relationships, be a lifelong learner, be committed to your craft, and care deeply about others.
Give a shoutout to someone who is making a difference in radio and what are they doing to make an impact?
Brant Hansen! He is helping create deeper connections with listeners and fans around the globe by creating a close-knit community of “Misfits,” of which I am a Gold Member that seeks to make a difference for Christ in spite of themselves.
How do you refresh your creative energy at work?
I do what Steve Jobs did to relieve his stress at the office…. I soak my feet in the company toilets…. Wait, not true! Well…maybe sometimes. Hahaha! Just kidding. I like walking around the office looking for ways to help others. That sparks my creativity because I focus on others.
Amazon Echo or Google Home?
I prefer Google Home
What is your favorite part of your job?
I am committed to helping people grow and get better! I love doing tune-ups (air checks) with air talent and mentoring the next generation of Christian Broadcasters.
Who is your favorite air personality not on your staff and why do you like them?
I am being repetitive here but, Brant Hansen wins again! He’s fun to listen to, is a great story teller, and is honest and relatable.
What was your last non-industry job?
Training and Staff Development Manager
Tell me about a project or accomplishment that you consider to be the most significant in your career.
I love working with young Broadcasters! As an adjunct Professor and advisor for our student online radio station at Moody Bible Institute I really enjoy learning from the students while pushing them to innovate and create outside the boundaries of what radio has always been and always done. I always tell them to not be afraid to draw outside the lines!”
Teach me something I don’t know in the next five minutes.
I can do this is less than 5-seconds! Did you know that most toilets flush in E flat?
You’re a new addition to the crayon box. What color would you be and why?
A glossy clear – I work well with other colors and accentuate their beauty and add brightness to them.
