Z88.3’s Stay At Home Easter Sunrise Service

He is Risen! Z88.3 hosted a special Stay At Home Easter Sunrise Service yesterday morning on air. This was the first ever “Stay At Home” Easter Sunrise Service for Z88.3. For the last 43 years, the service has been held at SeaWorld since it was started in 1977. With the current stay at home mandates, this service provided an alternative celebration allowing the community to stay safe and at home.

Ellis and Tyler from Z88.3 Mornings hosted this event and were thrilled to be a part of the beautiful worship service! Listeners were able to gather at home with their loved ones, step outside and watch the sunrise together in worship and celebration with Z88.3!

Z artist Phil Wickham did an incredible job leading worship, with some of his songs “Living Hope”, “You’re Beautiful”, and “This Is Amazing Grace”.

Dr. David Uth, Senior Pastor of First Baptist Orlando, brought a powerful Easter message which he introduced by speaking about the place of Emmaus and how he believes “it is not where we go to meet Him, but where He goes to meet us.” The message itself was based on Luke 24 and was organized into 3 major points.  First, he showed how Luke taught that “He is closer than you think” reminding us that God is walking through this season of life with us, and while we might not be able to gather in our traditional places of worship, Jesus meets us wherever we are individually. Second, he reminded us that “He is better than we hoped,” using the sunrise to illustrate the grandeur and glory of God. He did not just come to save Israel from the Romans, but came and defeated sin and death for us all. Finally, Dr. Uth professed that the story teaches us that “He is bigger than we can ever imagine.” No matter how difficult our circumstances may seem, Christ is Lord over all and because He has defeated death, we can live in the joy and peace of God.  We can each realize our Emmaus moment by understanding that God is with us, He is better than we could have ever hoped and bigger than anything we can imagine.

As a whole, the Stay At Home Easter Sunrise Service was a huge success.  A large number of local listeners tuned in to the service, with many reports of others around the world listening to the service through our app. In the midst of a difficult situation, it was truly heartwarming to join with the Z listeners, both local and worldwide, to celebrate Resurrection Day.
