Northwestern Media’s Life 107.1 Getting Ready for School!

June 24, 2019 Des Moines, IA – Northwestern Media’s Life 107.1 (KNWI – Des Moines) was a part of a service day at Joshua Christian Academy (JCA) on Saturday, June 22, 2019. Life 107.1’s staff, family members and interns, cleaned bathrooms and classrooms, ripped out carpet, and painted rooms for the benefit of the inner-city private school.

“I just want to say on behalf of JCA a big thanks to Life 107.1 for coming out and cleaning,” said Cathy Vroom. “The kitchen is awesome! They painted it, they cleaned the floor, cleaned the floor again, and cleaned the floor again! It smells good and it looks so good.” “They were like a little army that came in and we didn’t even need to tell them what all needs doing. They just did it. We are very blessed to have volunteers like that come. It’s Christian fellowship working together.”

Life 107.1’s Listener Engagement Director Jen Green says, “The faculty and staff at JCA serve above and beyond every day, showing the love of Christ to children and family in Des Moines. Spending a morning helping them do things around the school is the very least we can do to thank them for their hard work.”
JCA is a private, Christian school that exists “to build a Christ-centered academic foundation within the hearts and minds of 100 children from the Des Moines metro area.” They work together with the families, community, and the churches of Des Moines to bring Christ-centered education to the children around them.
Life 107.1 exists to lead people to Christ and nurture believers in their spiritual growth through Christ-centered media.
