Healthcare Heroes Parade

SPIRIT 105.9 (KFMK Austin, TX) partnered with Bannockburn Church to celebrate local healthcare heroes in Austin, Texas. Joined by countless members of the community, a celebratory car parade drove past St. David’s South Austin Medical Center during the evening of Monday, April 20th.

Hundreds of decorated vehicles honked, cheered and waved to the doctors, nurses and patients during the evening shift change. Hand-written messages of hope were held out of car windows and enormous smiles were shared as the parade passed by the windows of St. David’s. Prayers were lifted up and thank-you’s were extended to those whom risk their own lives to help save ours.

The evening buzzed with energy as SPIRT 105.9’s Morning Show hosts, Steve & Amy, greeted listeners and led the parade route. CBS Austin provided live news coverage of the extensive car parade and even joined in themselves! Further coverage and photos of the event were promoted via social media using the hashtags #Spirit1059 #HeroCare #WeAreInThisTogether and #BannockburnChurch.

Raising the spirits of many and coming together as a community is the SPIRIT of Austin.
