Convince Your Boss – Sample Letter

Below is a letter that we created for you to use if you need assistance getting approval from your manager to attend Momentum 2016. Please feel free to use it or edit it to your needs and make sure to fill in the blanks with your information. 

Sample letter:



Subject: Momentum 2016 Proposal

I’m writing to ask for approval to attend Christian Music Broadcasters’ annual conference, Momentum, September 7 – 10th in Orlando, Florida. This is the premiere event where Christian music broadcasters from around the world converge under one roof to get equipped to be a better station. This year’s emphasis is especially relevant as it focuses on how [your station] might be best prepared for future growth in light of all the changes already underway in radio.
Momentum has several key industry leaders speaking on how we can best engage our audience, and there are several break-out sessions to learn from radio professionals about our present and future listeners and how we might best connect with them on air and through social/digital media.  I really believe attending Momentum will be a catalyst for [your station], moving us forward to greatly benefit our listeners and how we serve them.

In fact, it’s also possible CMB might help with the expenses.  Each year, CMB occasionally offers scholarships to attendees and their stations who cannot afford to go.  If you’re alright with me attending, I’ll reach out to CMB and see if a scholarship is available to help cover the costs.
